    Responsible for coordinating certification activities for sustaining engineering and new products.

    Essential duties and responsibilities

    - Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, FAA Regulations and related specifications.
    - Participate in activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
    - Participate in routine communications with FAA and provide updates on responsible tasks.
    - Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
    - Evaluate product design for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards, and specifications.
    - Coordinate design, production, testing, and related activities.
    - Consult with project personnel and others to provide technical assistance and information.
    - Provide status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.
    - Other duties as assigned.

    Education and experience

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university; minimum of five years related experience and,or training. Pilot certificate aor FAA DMIR, DER, DAR or A&P certificate a plus. Familiarity with reciprocating engines, components, and manufacturing methods, preferably aviation applications. Familiarity with communicating in a regulatory environment.

    Language skills

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write technical reports and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.

    Mathematical skills

    Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

    Reasoning ability

    Ability to multi task daily including multiple projects. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    Computer

    Windows, Solid Edge, Inventor, PTC Creo, AutoCAD, Windchill, FEA, Power Point, MS Project, Excel, Word.

    Physical requirements

    Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
    Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
    Ability to traverse the shop floor if needed.

    Travel

    Available to travel up to 20 percent.
